Village Hall re-opening

It gives us great pleasure to announce that after being closed for 166 days due to the pandemic, we re-opened for our regular users on 1st September 2020.

We have strictly followed Government Guidance to make the Hall "Covid Secure". Changes have been made and signs remind users of the new rules.

Public Health want to understand what services are needed to support people to improve their health and wellbeing, and in particular to meet the needs of those who are most vulnerable, to see if they have access to the right types of services and if services need to be delivered in different ways to address these needs.

Bin collection update

Residents are being encouraged to keep an eye out for their new bin calendars early next week as some will see changes to their collections from the end of this month.

The four-page leaflet gives details of waste and recycling dates for the year ahead, including changes to collection patterns for around 15,000 homes district-wide from the week beginning 31 August 2020.

Welford is now in a Conservation Area

Welford has now been designated as a Conservation area by Daventry District Council. This puts in place tighter planning controls for anyone seeking permission to alter or demolish a building, or carry out work to trees, in order to maintain the special interest of the area.

Electric Vehicle Charge Point

The Parish Council has been working with Daventry District Council to install an electric vehicle charge point in the village. After some debate the proposed location suggested is in West Street outside the cemetery but north of the gates towards the school.
