The above event is taking place from 13th to 27th August at the Husbands Bosworth Gliding Centre. To celebrate this event, Husbands Bosworth Parish Council and the Gliding Club have teamed up to create a free, family friendly and fun afternoon on Tuesday 9th August in Husbands Bosworth Village where there will be the opportunity to learn more about glider flying and the forthcoming Women's World Championship.

There will be various activities starting at 1.30pm on the recreation ground where there will be the opportunity to see a real glider being assembled from its trailer and being made ready to fly. We will then move to the Village Hall where there will be various activities including a short film and talk from Rob Barsby one of the pilots of the aeroSPARX display team and a chance to chat with two pilots from the British Team taking part in the competition. There will also be interactive activities

where amongst other things making a model glider or a seagull out of a plastic milk carton! There will also be the opportunity to sit in the glider simulator and maybe have a go at flying it! (restrictions apply).

Free refreshment will also be available.

We would like to extend an invitation to those in the nearby parishes who may like to come to this event.
